2018 Five Rivers Peacebuilder Experience (PbX), Sun., Sept. 16, 1- 5pm


Presented by 21st Century Peace Literacy Foundation and International Cities of Peace, the Peacebuilder Experience (PbX) will be jam-packed with opportunities to learn the art of peaceful living from experienced peacebuilders and to meet others who are on this path. 


  • 1:00 PM  -- Paul Chappell, International Speaker/Author/Workshop Leader, Leadership Director at Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, Santa Barbara, CA (Dayton Metro Library)

  • 2:30 PM -- "Circle of Support"  Dayton will show its solidarity with 215 peace cities around the world  by linking hands and forming a giant Circle of Support. 360 photo by Andy Snow, Intro by City Mayor, live rap with Kim Belew of the NonViolence Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.

  • 3:15 PM -- 4:45 PM: FIVE RIVERS BREAK OUT SESSIONS (Dayton Metro Library)

  • "Agents of Change" Documentary Film and Discussion led by City of Dayton Human Relations Council.

  • "Mother Courage and Her Children" Play Reading led by Stuart McDowell and Wright State Theater Department

  • "Peace Literacy -- Skills and Leadership for the 21st Century" Workshop by Paul Chappell.

  • "Heartfulness Meditation for Inner & Outer Peace" led by Anjali Brannon of the Dayton Heartfulness Institute.

  • "Women's Stories in Acrylic" led by Dayton-based painter, Patsy Ferrell.

  • "Activating the U.N. Sustainable Goals Locally" led by Fred Arment, founder of International Cities of Peace.

  • "Gandhi’s Nonviolence for the 21st Century” Led by Jacob N. Bauer, Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at the University of Dayton and Wright State University
